The measures for the promotion of initiatives for social innovations by the BMBF are evaluated together with technopolis and prepared in a scientifically reflective manner.

In addition to the evaluative monitoring of the funding measures, a series of research papers on current challenges of socially oriented initiatives and their effects in society will be prepared. These are to be disseminated in the scientific community with the help of an advisory board and stimulate discussion on the topics.

On March 13, 2017, the cabinet of the Hessian state government adopted the Integrated Climate Protection Plan 2025 (ICPP). The package of measures contained in this plan also provides for the creation of a state-wide waste avoidance strategy.

However, the approaches often lack practical relevance, which is why a stronger concretization and binding nature of waste avoidance is necessary.
